Meet the Team
Adam Atwood, Managing Editor
Born on a farm in Wisconsin, Adam was destined to live a life surrounded by animals. His childhood was filled with days spent befriending the local wildlife. It was no surprise to anyone when Adam decided to dedicate his life to understanding and advocating for animals.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Zoology, Adam embarked on a journey that would take him around the world, spending several years researching animal behavior in Africa and South America.
However, Adam’s passion for animals wasn’t just rooted in scientific exploration. He wanted to share his love and knowledge of animals with the wider public. So, in 2022, he returned to the United States and launched Animals Guide – a comprehensive online platform dedicated to educating people about the wonderful world of animals.

Lila Atwood
Lila has been accompanying Adam on his every adventure since they first met back in 2012. What she lacks in official academic credentials, she more than makes up for with sheer enthusiasm for all things wild. A Pomeranian-Poodle mix (also known as a Pomapoo!), she is extremely smart, and always maintains a positive attitude.
In many ways, Lila embodies the essence of Animals Guide – a deep love for animals, a passion for exploration, and a positive spirit. She may be small in size, but her impact on Adam’s life and work is immeasurable.
